My 2012 Expedition has a thumping problem. It is 4x4 but RWD if not in 4x4, I guess thats a given Anyway, Whenever it starts, something near the back passenger wheel well goes click, click, click, without even going into reverse. I'm not sure if it is something to do with the weather because it is very cold right now, or something else.
Thanks!
There are two actuators, one controls the temperature, one the air flow location. They used to be independent, you could pick temp and location, but at some point they were connected so if you were looking for heat it automatically moved the air flow to the floor, and vice versa for cool. I have not seen a thread for issues with the newer system, but I'd assume it uses the same two actuators and just tied them electronically together. They are both located behind the rear wheel arch on the passenger side. If you look at my albums I have pics of the locatons.
