I have an old style drop 6 and it wasn't enough for my sled trailer. What is the common drop for a stock 250? I'm about to get a BW with 7in drop. It would be for sled trailer & boat. I have equalizer hitch for car hauler and camper. I'd go measure but sled trailer is at my farm bout an hour away.. thanks in advance.
It's really truck/trailer combo specific as opposed to truck specific and every truck trailer combo is different. This is why many of us run an adjustable drop. I have the 8" Weigh Safe adjustable. It's pricy but the all aluminum/stainless construction with a built in tongue weight scale is pretty darn nice... I've not found a trailer that it won't work with. They make a 10" too but the only trailers that would require that much drop are very small utility trailers with 10" or 12" wheels. I don't have and don't intend to buy one of those though. I think the 8" will future proof you. If you decide to go for a Weigh Safe, FTE get's a coupon code for 10% off and free shipping at a vendor called Trunk Monkey. Code is FTE.

Good info, yeah I really need to measure. I know a 8in would be more then enough. Was just trying to decide if a 7in would work for me. Thanks for the code I'll check it out.
I went with the 10" B&W because I have a trailer that sits really low and it is also the tallest hitch that you can use as a "rise" without hitting your tailgate in the down position.

Get the 7.. I got a 5 B&W and ending up going back and trading it for the 7". I've got two of my four trailer that ride low...and the 5 was stretching it to not make them level. You'll be happy with the 7. These ***** are tall
I had the B&W on my old truck and was not long enough. I got another B&W 2-1/2" shank and the longest that model comes in. I think it's the 7" drop. It levels all my trailers now.
I purchased this Curt shank and mounted my Reese WD hitch on it. I wanted the extension so I can open the tailgate and not worry about hitting the tongue jack on either of my trailers. Works great, keeps the option for using the bars if towing heavy and didn't break the bank.

That's what I'm leaning to get. Was debating the 9 but didn't want overkill if not needed. Thanks!
