"wow that truly is darker then any Ford brochure"

Actually, I believe if you look at the color guide in the back of the actual brochure: 2018 Super Duty Brochure the color is quite accurate. However, the Magma Red color shown on the Ford website when you "build your own" is horribly off, much redder/burgundy than actual....

Thankx

It all depends on the angle and sunlight you are looking at it. Trust me its purple in the sunlight.

I got MR. It's darker when out of the sun, but it is nowhere near black. Just dark. Get it close to a black car and it is quite obvious. I like the MR and it works for me since I was coming out of a Gem Green F-150, which has the same affect under lighting conditions. Very dark out of the direct light and brilliant in the light.

yeah there were no brochures at the dealership and to be honest I had already viewed what I thought it would be As you said and photo that I posted. Not even close. Not even on the shaded side.
Anyway I went to a dealership today to look for myself. Yep again. WOW what a difference. Got them to give it a quick wash and put it in the sun. There is the colour. I guess it will make a great conversation. Kinda growin on me. I guess.

Barbaro.....It has too much "red" in it to be Root Beer....the old 2011 "Brown" was more Root Beer....which is what Root Beer is....Brown. I do want to see one of these in person just to see how it changes in the light. Curious to see the "purple" shade....LOL

I just looked at a F-250 today. Definitely root beer colour in certain light and angles. Only in bright light and certain angles do you get the purplish hues. Looks “codiak”/ black in shade or overcast skies.

Now that I've seen more of it, I'd say closer to Birch Beer than Root Beer on a bright sunny day, or maybe a mix of the two sodas. But Magma is definitely a sky-dependent color. Cloudy day, it could be anywhere from black to dark brown to dark burgundy.

That's the thing about Ruby Red, Platinum White, Magma etc.....They look maroon, white, and dark brown/black in the shade or wrong angle. You really have to have perfect conditions to see their real beauty.

Magma looks a lot like the old Kodiak Brown from 2013 or 14.
