I have a 2012 Ford F250 XLT 6.2. I recently had the oem alternator go out completely. Had it replaced and replaced the battery. The Truck is used for emergency responses so I had a 215 amp alternator added. Now the battery light on the dash will come on and go off. I have taken it back to the shop that replaced the alternator and it shows a code, unfortunately I can't remember. We have disconnected the battery and let it set for over an hour. hopping for the comp. to reset. no resolve. I am wondering if the fact that we added the bigger alternator that there is some type of setting in the comp. that needs to be changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Replaced the alternator with a new, used, rebuilt, OEM, or aftermarket one?

 

it was a new one.

 

It sure would be helpful to know what that code was.
