Dyno, when did I call you an idiot???? When did I ask you if you knew what bumpsteer was???? All I asked was how you define bumpsteer, it can mean different things to different people.
I never mentioned death wobble, where did you come up with that????
Good luck with your truck & attitude, you won't get any help from me.
Well, the only dumb question is the unasked question...
I thought the question was fair. Especially considering how some of the questions I've been asked here resulted in a change of understanding. Not all, but some did.
So what was the point of asking me what I thought bumpsteer is? Why would I use the term bumpsteer for something other than bumpsteer? You questioning if I know what bumpsteer is, is directly doubting I know what bumpsteer is. No other explanation. Bumpsteer is one of the most self explanatory terms. Next time if you have advice, just give it, rather than question if the guy is an idiot. It just makes you look like an idiot.

NEWS FLASH..... Scott isn't the one looking like an idiot here. I don't understand why you're taking this the wrong way. Nobody ever doubted you know what it is. But it could certainly mean something different to some people and there's even varying degrees of bumpsteer. Chill man
There is no other way to take it, bumpsteer is bumpsteer. I already explained the degree of my bumpsteer too. Literally no other way to take it. I already told you guys I disagreed with you.
Not trying to be a jerk here but I've been working on vehicles since I was a kid. I'm in my 50's. I grew up in a family owned garage/ body shop. To be honest and it's a terminology thing for me, I was kind of wondering what bump steer is. Now that I understand by your explanation it makes sense. Just a new term for me. Good luck with your steering issue.
Bump steer has been defined to me as when the front springs compress or decompress the steering wheel moves right or left. It's a slow reaction that is very pronounced. Usually caused by having different angles on the track bar and draglink. Been a jeep problem for decades. A shaking steering wheel and a darting front end is not bump steer in my books. But I guess you have a different idea of what Bump steer is so I will disagree with you. Regardless, I hope you find the problem and get it fixed.
Where do I say I have a shaking steering wheel? I don’t ,what you decribe is exactly my bumpsteer. Going over a bump, the front end misaligns which is why I asked if a steering damper is going to fix it since I already replaced track bar ball joint and bushing along with tie rods. I said I had play in my steering wheel, no where do I say it shakes while driving. Cuz it doesn’t
When a front end misaligns that’s exactly what it does, is dart to one side. That is the steer in the bump steer lol. How is it not going to dart left or right when you say it steers left or right. That’s exactly what it does , dart lefts or right after a bump
I have no advice to offer to help with your bumpsteer issue, however I do have some advice to help you play well with others, who by the way YOU ASKED help from.
Chill out man, no one here called (or even insinuated that you were) you an idiot of any sort, he simply asked a question to have you clearly define you suspension issue (that you don't know the solution to). If you are going to take this much offence to others seeking clarification in an attempt to help solve your handling issue (that you came here asking help for) then maybe you need to seek other venues for help other than this excellent truck forum. Maybe you would be better off trying to find a group of like minded, easily offended and belligerent to logical clarification questions folks to get your truck frontend issues squared away. If you do some reading here and can bring an open mind, I doubt that you will find many other instances of guys getting as agitated as you seem to be over a simple question asking for a clear definition of your described issue.
If we were a group of truck owners standing around in a parking lot discussing this and you said and acted as you have here, I would simply turn and walk away, and I can't see how you could possibly think that your (perceived) attitude would have any other effect on others.
Have a good day and good luck finding someone to help you with your truck, chilling out a good bit and being a little less prickly will undoubtedly help with that mission.
Your missing the point. With bump steer the steering wheel moves not the truck.
Did you check the angles? Ball joints look new? I can't understand all the attitude but I'm a Canadian so I will suck it up and try to help you because you asked. I haven't gotten anyone on this thread thinking that you are a idiot. Accept you.
On second thought, I guess this will be the last offer of assistance from me. Good luck with your truck.
