I bought a set of 4 of the Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos about 2 weeks ago. I can honestly say that they are the best tires I have ever owned. Previously I had firestone (can't remember the model) 235/70/16 on my truck. I went up in size to 265/75/16. These new tires are almost 3 inches taller and about 1 3/4 inches wider than the old. These tires look tough! Nice agressive looking tread and sidewall. The tires are VERY quiet even at highway speeds. I immediatly noticed a change in the ride of the truck and handling in corners. Both much better than they had been with the Firestones. And, they make the Revo all the way up to load range E. So, they will tow.....
I routinely tow a two horse trailer about 4500lbs loaded. Just pulled it 3 days ago. The tires didn't sag at all. It was pouring rain while I was towing and I had no problems at all with hydroplaning or loss of traction. It was a steady and smooth ride. Very nice.
I can't complain one bit about the tires so far. I would suggest that you check out the reviews for the Revo at http://www.tirerack.com- There are over 100 reviews by people who have used the tire over the last year or so. The Bridgestone AT Revo is the top rated truck tire at tirerack.
They are in the price range of the michelin or maybe even a little cheaper. Well worth the money in my opinion!
Thanks for the responses, mikebemt, Bob A;
National Michelin tire sale at Sears until Sept 23, can get the LTX M/S for $ 144 mount balance... still checking on REVO,,, Daily driver highway mainly some light tow flatsboat, limited 4X4ing.
On my 3rd set Wrangler RT/S ouch! keep you posted
I recently replaced a set of BFG AT's with a set of 285 75 16 Revo's on our 97 Landcruiser. Got 60,000 mile out of the BFG's and probably could have gone 5,000 more if we hadn't gotten a sidewall puncture on one. The Revo's ride MUCH better and actually seem to be a better off road tire than the BFG's. I wish they made them in 35 12.5 and I put a set on my Excursion without hesitation.
The Bridgestone site is pretty technical....it mostly has to do with the tires general durability and more importantly wet road performance throughout the life of the tire.
Like I said, I have been extremely happy with these tires. Bridgestone actually has a big tire sale going on now too. You get a free "personal" color tv. It's handheld. Probably about a 4" screen.
If you print the prices out off of tirerack.com your local store might meet the price. That's what I did at Tires Plus and I saved almost $20 per tire over what they were charging.
Check out tirerack.com. There is a lot of good info there.
