I have a 1966 F100 with a 240 inline 6 currently I have a Autolite 1101 Carburetor and I have had nothing but problems with it. I was thinking of running a Carter YF I know it didn’t come stock with my truck but later models of that engine came with it, would this work and if so what difficulty’s could I run into? Thanks

just running into my first issue with my autolite... bought a rebuild kit to see how well it works after. Should be a fun task. Interested in responses to your carb question just incase I need to switch out carbs later on
I rebuilt mine, nothing to it right? It did not run. I sent it out to a very reputable carb shop. They told me that the carb kits do not include the correct needle valve, but they had some on the shelf. I got it back , did not run. Sent it back again, they say its all set. I install it and still does not run. They also told me the float is not reproduced.
Maybe i am being taken advantage of, but they are a good shop. I dont know. I still have a truck not running.

The needle & seat (C5AZ-9564-A /Motorcraft CV-56) is the same 1965/67, also used on some 1968/69's. The float (C3AZ-9550-A / Motorcraft CM-430) is the same 1965/72.
The carb kit (C8OZ-9A586-D / Motorcraft CT-207-A) was also used on cars with 144/170/200 I-6's.
Is the carb ID tag still present? It's shaped like a triangle, was mounted on the airhorn w/a screw.
If it's missing (common), look on the base of the carb for the ID number.
