I just bought a 2016 Ford F-150 XL and really love the interior but one thing I didn't realize until after purchase...my center console which is a fold down seat back has absolutely no storage in the console itself. It has a very shallow storage under the center seat but is a pain to get to if the console is lowered. I previously owned a 2010 F-150 XLT which has the fold down seat back with a lid to access storage in the console. Is there some way I can swap my useless fold down console for one with storage? I've searched the internet but have come up empty handed. I even went to a Ford dealer and they couldn't help me. Any suggestions??
Buy a center seat section out of a late model XLT. Get it from a wreck or from someone doing a console conversion. They pop up on eBay once in awhile. The XLT has storage on the armeest/aeatback.

I don't know about the later models but I had the same concern with my 2010 XLT with the jump-seat. I swapped the jump-seat for a console.
I have the same problem, and while my truck has slowly become a money pit because I can't stop ordering crap for it on Amazon, this is the final thing I am going to to do; have a center console installed (with no shifter). Well, maybe leather installed too. There are several videos online of doing the changeover. Last time I priced them, they were around $600.00 without the required trim pieces for the bottom I believe.

I remember those days !!! Now I try to get the dealer to install as many things as I need to make it where I like the truck and it fits my needs. Then I decide what are "needs" and what are "wants". It's not easy but with age it's begun to be doable, LOL !
