external fuel pump
hi i have a 1988 f150 4x4 351 c6 short bed 37k original mi. has anyone had problems with a new external hi pressure fuel pump? i have bought and returned 3 different pumps 2 from autozone 1 from pepboys,the truck will start up and run about 45 seconds and die..new front tank and pump ,new fuel filter,new pressure regulator,new fuel pump relay switch....the truck will stay running on a fuel injector cleaner unit,with gas hooked up to a air compressor .running 40 lbs pressure...so no electrical or sensors problems...how many new fuel pumps do i have to try????!!!!!

What was the fuel pressure reading with the original HP pump?
What was the fuel pressure reading with each successive new fuel pump in turn?
At what point did you replace the FPR, what if any effect did replacing it on fuel pressure readings?
What is its fuel pressure reading now KOEO? and KOER with and then without the FPR vacuum line connected to source?
What was the result of static fuel pressure testing?
