Just noticed on my 2004 F-250 that the only vent working now are the defrost vents at the base of the windshield . When I turn the control to other positions, ie; floor, etc. air only still comes out of defrost vents. A/C, Heat and fan all work, just only out the top of dash. Will probably run truck into local Ford dealer but don't want to here that the whole dash has to come off etc to do repair, anyone have this problem and how did it get corrected? I am the original owner and yes it has the 6.0 diesel in it and have had it's share of the usual issues but I still love it!
its one of 3 things. The dash switch itself, the vacuum actuator or the vacuum pump.. not sure how hard the actuator is to change. i know the electronic blend doors easy to access behind the glove box. not sure where the vacuum actuator is.. assume its close by... the vacuum pump is under the hood next to the passenger side fender.
i know theres quite a few youtube vids to fix this specific issue though.
