Could you give us some details about how you powered your tablet? Where did you tap into to get 12V and how did you convert the 12V to 5V?
thanks,
Mike

Tapped into one of the Passenger Compartment Fuses that's on with ignition (same as my Valentine1), but don't recall the number.
wow! This is nice. I would be willing to pay decent money to anyone that could help me set that up in my truck.
So do you live in Jacksonville?
Yes. You can do this on your own and not pay anyone. It's easy to run the cord across your headliner at the top of the windshield, then down the passenger front pillar area to the fuse box. Just take your time.

sorry but this may as well be a Russian translation into Chinese for me. I’m good at at some things, but like a famous detective once said, “ a man has to know his limitations.” If I was much younger I would learn these skills, but at this stage of my life, I’d rather reward someone for their skills by paying them a fair fee for their time and knowledge. I love the concept of having those stats so readily available, enough that I’d drive 4-5 hours round trip and pay for that opportunity(which is how far I am from Jacksonville.) 😂
What is the difference between EGT11 and EGT12? I just want to monitor EGT in general (the way I use to do with an analog gauge with a probe like I did in my previous trucks.
And can the gauges be rearranged? If so, I haven't figured that out yet.
I'm monitoring EGT, EOT, ECT, so far.
The 4 egt locations I think 13-14 would be the hottest during regen as they are after the dpf. ANd so far monitoring all 4 on my truck has shown that.
Jaxf250 what app or how did you get it to work on the fire? I have a HD fire 8
Just use Forscan Lite from the Google Play Store. You will need to set your Fire to allow non-standard installs and then download the Google APK's to install the framework for logging in and the Playstore itself. Then logon to your Google account and install the Forscan Lite APK like on any other Android device. I got the info and links to download the APK's from xda-developers site. Just search and you can find it. I didn't bookmark it but a quick search brought this up: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ama...-fire-t3486603

In the picture you posted above, it *looks* like there is a very short adapter (1" or so) - between the tablet and one of the two cables you're advising that we purchase.
Did you do something different in this picture? It actually looks something like

So the first USB cable I used had a USB mini adapter on it, and the tablet needs a USB micro. So the adapter in the pic converts the mini plug to a micro male to insert into the tablet. The thought when I did this was to use the mounting arm and the USB mini for another device like a dashcam, and be able to switch between the two. I have since given up on that idea, and I have replaced the USB mini cable for the tablet with one with a dedicated USB micro plug (http://a.co/fH25X1D), and that is what is plugged into the tablet 24x7 now. I decided that the tablet would stay in the upper left windshield area and that I would add a dashcam closer to the rearview mirror and not physically switch out the two devices.

Thanks for the update.
So the ONLY item you're using for the Fire tablet is the one in the link I just quoted? No additional cables or adapters?
Does anyone know of a list or spreadsheet that tells you what things (PIDs?) are located under what module? I started started scrolling through "all" and it was pretty overwhelming and by time I looked at the table with every thing I selected I couldn't figure out what was what... Mostly because I selected things as I saw them and thought "oh that might be interesting".
Would love to take a look at a list at my leisure instead of having to be connected to the truck.
