1979 Vented Fuel Cap Problems

1979 F150 4x4 351m

Truck originally had Evap/Em canister. I am replacing the fuel tank and junking the Evap/Em system it was removed by the previous owner anyway. I ordered a new tank without the Evap hole and am having problems finding a vented fuel cap to work with my filler neck.

I purchases a vented fuel cap from LMC however it doesn't seem to work with the filler neck.

Anybody know where I can get the proper cap or even a filler neck if they are not backwards compatible?

Thanks, D

You cannot use a vented fuel cap with the Evap/Em fuel filler tube, because it won't work.

You will have to change the filler tube to one without Evap/Em.
