Can anyone give any info on what a code 37 would be on an air bag system on a 2000 Ford Explorer? The light stays on but when first started it flashes 3 times with short pauses, then a long pause, and then flashes 7 times with short pauses. Any help or links to tell me simplify the repair would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

B1996 37 25 Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Shorted to Battery or Ignition GO to Pinpoint Test AA .
B1998 37 27 Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Resistance High GO to Pinpoint Test AB .
B1999 37 29 Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Resistance Low GO to Pinpoint Test AC .
As you can see there are 4 different flash code 37 possibilities, all doing with the passenger side air bag. You will need a scan tool to retrieve the fault code to isolate the problem.
Note that Passenger Side Air Bag is referring to side impact air bag system, not the Passenger Air Bag up in the dash. Check for broken wiring at the under seat connector first. The connector may just be loosely connected and reseating the connector may help. If your vehicle does not have side air bags, Ford makes a bypass harness now to eliminate the recurring problems of the broken wiring. It is rather expensive though. On the other hand if you have less than 50000 miles Ford will fix it for you for free.

I have a '99 Explorer, & had the same problem. Underneath the passenger seat is a connector that is loose. My mother in law kept kicking it when she would sit in the back seat, & loosened the plug.
LOL Rick55, tieing to the hood is a little uncomfortable I bet.
What you can do as an alternative if you dont have side air bags and just the yellow bypass resistor, is to remove it from the under side of the seat and tuck it under the carpeting so wandering feet wont knock it loose again.
Thanks for both the responses. Before I posted the question, I had seen the wiring harness laying loose under the seat. I thought it was just an extra factory connection for a power seat since the drivers seat was powered. However, the light did not come on until the next day or so. Maybe there has to be so many driving cycles before it will fault??? I put the connector back in its place and the light is still on. I assume the light has to be reset to turn it off once the fault is cleared. Does this have to be done with a scanner or can it be cleared by disconnecting the battery. If it can be cleared by disconnecting the battery, can it be done like clearing the older engine codes or does it have to be left disconnected longer than a few minutes? Thanks again for your responses.
