Glow Plug controller
on my 89 F250 7.3 when the key is engaged my wait to start light only stays on for about a second and then goes out...........this truck is very hard to start up the first time after sitting a while, but after it runs it starts like it should................could this be my glow plug controller is out or could it just be the less expensive relay going out?

I'm not entirely sure, but either way, I'd suggest a manual GP relay. Basically, a push button (preferred) or toggle switch that goes from a hot wire, through the button, to the post on the relay with the purple wire. An easy way to try it out would be to hook it up that way and sit in the cab and push the button/flip the switch and see what happens.
