First, yes I have seen all the other threads out there about the cabin fuse box and replacing it. My question has to do with the actual part and I haven't been able to find an answer to that.
My current fuse box, currently has a short and smells like electrical burning, needs to be replaced. The original has part # is YC3T-14A067-BF. I ordered a replacement part from a yard, and they sent me YC3T-14A067-BE. My question is does anyone know the difference? Can I use the BE in place of the BF? The BE does say it is for my vehicle, but I would rather do some checking first.
I have harvested a few of those central junction boxes (CJB) for others. Never had someone say it didn't work, despite the last two numbers not always matching. I even pulled one from an F250 and a member put it in his Excursion...worked just fine.
Can you post some pics? How you are removing the current wiring and installing it into the new box?
It's just a ground and a hot from the battery going to the junction box. Not to special. I thought I had a short in there and got one off of ebay. Hardest part was moving the fuses and relays over. Turned out it was a bent pin in the PCM...and I just threw the other CJB away!!

Each circuit has to be attached to the box and would have to be moved, too, right?
There are two large plugs on the back of the 2000 and 2001 central junction boxes. They contain the power input and ground, as well as all the circuits going out.
They changed in 02-05, so I can't offer much to you in advice for those later years. I have removed them from 02-05 trucks at salvage, but I have not installed any.

Stinks you tossed a likely good fuse box
No kidding!! There are plugs in the back that complete the circuits. I should have taken some pictures. Mine is a 2003 so looks like it could be the same for most of the years.
I think I see what you guys are saying about the big connectors on the back. I've been picturing conventional fuse blocks with individual wires clipping into each side of the fuse socket for each circuit.
If someone has a chance to post a pic of the back of a fuse block without the connectors on it, maybe I'd catch up, LOL.
No rush and don't tear anything apart to get a pic. But if/when someone has one apart, snap a pic please
I borrowed this from one for sale on Ebay. It's listed as 03-04 Excursion:

The last character represents the "revision" of the part. -BE would be one revision prior to -BF (Ford considers this digit the "change level indicator"). It should be quite difficult to find out what changed between the two unless you have an inside connection through a supplier or Ford Motor Company.
So if it i just a revision, and based on what Nicmike has posted, I'm going to try and put it in. I was going to do it last weekend, but we got almost 2 feet of snow and things happen. hopefully in the next few days.
For the Pic posted, as Jeff53 stated that is for an 03-04. My Excursion is an 00 and looks nothing like that. I can post a pic of it tonight, there are something like 4-6 (don't have it in front of me) screws holding it in place, and i think 2 connections. Hardest part looks to be getting into position under the dash for access. Like working on your head.I can post more details when I have swapped it.
As a side note, there is apparently a dealer in KY/TN area the refurbishes them. Cost is around $700 for part and install is another $300. I bought this off E-bay for $100.
There are two bolts and two nuts on the front of the CJB. On the back, there are two large plugs with 10mm bolts holding them on. On the side, depending on your options and vehicle, there are 1-3 plugs connecting to the GEM module, which is piggybacked on the CJB...literally.
