Has anyone had problems getting warranty or recall work done?
I recently took my truck in for a fuel cross-over problem.
Made the appointment, was told to run the tanks down to a 1/4, and it would take approximately a half day. Took the truck in at 7:00 a.m. and was told it would be finished at 1:00 p.m. I called at 3:00 p.m. and was told they weren't finished and to give them another hour. Another call back at 4:30, claimed they could not get the line off of the fuel pump. Said they would have to jack up the bed higher to get at the line (was not told the bed would be unattached from the truck). Another call at 5:00, said coundn't get the line off and would have the truck ready at 8:30 a.m. the next morning. I was not offered a loaner vehicle. The next morning I drove my wife's car to the dealership to check on things. At that time, they said they would get me a rental vehicle from another dealership (none available there)20 miles away. The rental agency called me and said the vehicle would be at the shop at 8:45 but low and behold, the dealership had the truck finished at exactly 8:30. This experience cost me 4 hours and 15 minutes of wages. Is this normal?
I used to work at an over the road truck dealership in the bodyshop. It was hard to see so many good hard working people getting lied to as far what was going on with their trucks. Ive seen parts taken off one truck to go on someone else's truck just to get it out of the shop.My old boss if he saw a customer come into the building he would RUN out into the shop and grab some tools and make it look like that customers truck was being worked on right on time. In reality the truck had set for three weeks waiting to be repaired and repainted. On my deal I told the service maneger I had worked In a shop before and I knew what kind of bull$#%* that went on I said that all money work come's first and all waranty, recall gets done last If there is a enough time left in the day. The service manager said OH NO we take all work as it comes we get a five doller an hour bonus for recall work yeah right it does'nt take ten and half hours to change two fuel pumps.
