Tire Size(s) Recommendations
My '49 F1 is between here and CA, expected to arrive in CT on Tuesday. The truck has 215-60/15 on front and 235-75/15 on the rear. The owner said the tires are about 50%, but did not know how old they were, so I will want to replace soon for safety sake. Tires in the above sizes are available, but should I go to a 16 inch size? Are these tires compatible for my truck which has a unmodified 302 and auto trans and I expect to be on the highways with it?

Jeff for the drive to CT it would be good to know the date the tires were manufactured regardless of the wear. These trucks are usually not driven a lot of miles annually. If you know the tire manufacturer then Google for their date code. Maybe the PO will look at them. Your tire dealer should be able to give advice on safe tire age.
