99 SD CC V10. The driver's window started sticking a few months ago. Recently, it got stuck open. I kept trying it and finally got it up an inch, after which I was able to get it to go up by applying pressure to help the motor. I need to bring it in for another reason, but I was wondering if anyone else had run into this problem.
My passenger window won't go down sometimes. It only happens when my truck has been sitting out in the hot sun all day. Eventually, it'll go down again. It's pretty frustrating. I can't figure out if it's sticking, or if it's in the motor, but it's definitely associated with the heat.
The window motor is pretty easy to replace. If I recall correctly, it takes some torx bits and some sockets. I didn't use anything other than these types of tools.
Thanks. I've got torx bits. I'm going to take the door off this weekend and see what's going on. Lube or new motor, I can't afford to pay someone to do something I can easily do myself.
