Front springs

Back 20 years or so ago, My dad and I were racing a Maverick street stock. what worked at the track we raced was a '74 Bronco front spring in the right front. I spent 10 minutes or so getting frustrated with google, (they kept directing me to Moog variable rate coils, which, I think are cool, but not for my current application). trying to find specs on this spring so I can replicate what we did then in a new race car we're putting together.

Please can someone direct me to spring rates/lengths for stock front springs on a (blue ) '74 Bronco full cab with a 302?

1 bronk frnt coil spring

"...'74 Bronco full cab with a 302..."
as U may know there's really no difference '66 - '77 bronco (even w/the 6 v 8 cyl motors, I assume). In fact I'd bet the '73 - '79 F 100 spring would B the same.

It may B difficult to wrench ONE spring outta a sale (don't they go in pairs?) but U could try. "Numbers Dummy" on here may B able 2 get U a part number...
from there U may B able to tell what folks R offering (ask them 2 cross reference to what their part lists out as w/the ford?).
Plenty (a doz?) bronk aftr mrkt vendors (we can help w/names if U wann go this route). Don't 4get the majority R 'progressive rate' (variable) now days - ask 4 the ol school spring, again, I guess).

Last, ford dealer.

Lotta assumptions there, but 's what I can do right now...
(Oh, classicbroncos is THE bronco site & can offer more opinions, only a few facts there but weed ur way thru, there's some w/the real facts).

Little information is available about the original stock springs in an early Bronco.
I did see this from some promotional materials from a '73 Bronco:

Front coils:
6cyl = 1075lbs
302 = 1130lbs

These springs ride much harsher than a modern replacement coil.

Early springs would have been a constant rate spring. Variable rate are more modern and are distinguished by the coil having two or more distinct wrapping patterns.

1966-77 replacement springs are listed the same for 6cyl -vs- V-8.

Moog CC812:
Bar dia. = .64"
I.D. =4"
Free Height = 16.31"
Installed Height = 13"
Load = 808lbs
Spring Rate= 245 psi
VARIABLE RATE
....................................
AC DELCO 45H1001
Bar dia. 64"
I.D. = 4"
Free Height = 16.4"
Installed Height = 13"
Load = 845lbs
Spring Rate = unlisted
CONSTANT RATE

And as far as 78/79 Bronco springs go, they MIGHT fit but are different from the 66-77 models:

MOOG CC814 and AC DELCO 45H1002 list the same specs:
Bar dia. = .67"
I.D. = 4"
Free Height= 17.5"
Installed Height = 13"
Load = 1330lbs
Spring Rate= 271psi
Moog= VARIABLE RATE
AC DELCO= CONSTANT RATE

Maybe there is enough info to help you out.....

Looking through my upper storage in the garage today, I noticed I have an OEM set of clean coils for a 73 or 74 Bronco, along with the red air lift air bags inside them.
Been off the vehicle for well over 20 years.

The spring's bar dia. is the same .64 and the free length is 17 1/2 inches.

In fact, if you want them I will make you a deal on them but most likely shipping costs would be pretty expensive.

Thank you for spending the time I didn't Mcleod! I will use the data supplied to make my current car as fast around the track as the old one was - maybe even faster! Welcome to my pit crew.
