When I was a kid, my parents gave me Tonka toys. Not these plastic wannabe toys now, I mean the old metal ones. So it kinda went with it that I became a heavy equipment operator. I’ve also twisted wrenches and sat behind the wheel hauling oversized loads. I work all over the country so who knows, I could be coming to an uncontaminated location near you any day now!

My first pickup was an International. A 1967 908B. Half ton, 2 wheel drive that my dad and I made 4. I still have that old truck and never thought I’d see the day when the big three gave us a million mile truck.

Now I’m a dedicated Super Duty owner. I have two, both with 7.3’s. Red (my 99) has over 400,000 miles on his ticker and there isn’t much left on that truck that’s still stock. Like everybody else, I put the big power to it and built the auto tranny up, just to tear it all out (unlike everybody else) and replace it with a manual 5 speed. (I got tired of rebuilding the rear end.) Then some jackass in a motor home pulled out in front of me and I T-boned him. So here I’ve got this beautiful red modified truck, that I bought back from the insurance company, with a crunched front end. What am I gonna do with it?

Now you know why I have two.

Red is going to live on as a farm truck in Oklahoma after I’ve scavenged all the usable parts off of him for my green one.

Why did I tell you all of this? Beats the hell outta me, it said say something, so I did.

BTW: Hi, I’m James
