I'd buy it right now for that much. It really depends on what you want out of it. If it was me, I'd put a 12 valve with a ZF5 or ZF6 behind it,4x4, and clean it and repaint it, then use it as a toy. I'm not sure if something like that is practial for towing purposes but man it would be sweet to look at.
I don't really have any pictures. Just the three craigslist pictures. I'll get way way more pictures once i actually pick the thing up. The guy is being nice enough to hold the truck for me. He even deleted the ad, and then some dude from florida called him about it and offered him like two grand more than asking and he said No, he was holding it for me. Then i guess his neighbor realized he was selling it and was like hey man if i knew you were selling it i would of bought it, and once again he said he was holding it for me. So i think i'm in the clear. I plan on grabbing it at the end of this month. In his original ad he pretty much said don't ask for more pictures, it is what it is, etc so i''m not trying to bother him. I'll figure it out once i get it and go from there. For the price i'm paying i fully expect to have to give it some well deserved love, but we will see.
My plans for it are to use it as a weekend getaway/hauler/around town getter. I have a 30' gooseneck that weighs around 6k empty. I'll use this truck to pull that trailer and my jeep and ATV up to Vermont where our family friends have land. This truck pulling my trailer will look awesome. Obviously isn't going to be a dedicated tow rig. I have my 450 and 550 and a bunch of other shenanigans for that.
In the end it will probably end up with a 12 valve backed by a ZF6 and a transfer case and 4x4.
That ^^^^^ is a true one-off. What does the outside of the very back of the "cab" (?) look like? And what happens when you go off-road and the frame flexes? Seems like joining the cab and bed "at the hip" like that could be tricky. No wind/water leaks?

I would also like to see some more pictures and hear a little more about that truck!

I definitely will know it is you if I pass you on some road up here in Vermont. Hopefully your friends have a 40 acre field so you can turn that beast around in to head south.
