Got a P0128 code, Coolant Temp below thermostat Regulating Temperature.
Most likely cause is bad thermostat.
My daughter's 2007 4 cyl. Took it to Auto Zone for the code check. On the way home I did notice the car temp gage going up as normal. I suspect this is the actual reading off the engine. So I'm thinking it's either a bad thermostat or the gage that reads the coolant temp is bad.
I was looking for a replacement and I see some parts that are rated for 180 deg and others 190 or 194. Some indicate they have a sensor and others do not.
It also looks like it's order from the warehouse. Which one should I be getting?
In my 2005 4-cyl, the original was 180, but Ford superseded it with a 192 for faster warm-up and better MPG. You might check with Ford Parts (use your VIN) to see what is spec now for yours.
