Okay so I have a 06 F150 Fx4 and I am trying to find the Output Shaft Sensor on my tranny. I pulled what I thought was it but it turned out to be the input shaft sensor (I think). Anyway it didn't have the same configuration as the OSS or connector so it was something else entirely. But now I can't locate the other sensor and need to check its connection and etc.. Please help as I have already searched other post and didn't find anything that showed its location.
Okay so need some feedback prior to having it towed to a shop to get it checked out and repaired.
3 days ago I was driving home and all of the sudden the truck goes into limited power mode. I know my truck very well and have had it since 25k and it just rolled pass 180k. There were no warnings or slips in the tranny until it goes into limited power and flashes trans fault.
Codes I pulled are P0720 for the output speed sensor circuit. Checked this out and all diagrams point to the sensor shown in the above attachment but all the parts I get from Ford or any where else are not the right sensor. So I am at a lose on this one currently.
Next it also threw code p2106 for the TAC. I cleaned the throttle body and mass air sensor but that is about it for that code.
I haven't driven the truck since it first occurred other then trying it out after i try a few things.
I did drain and change the fluid and filter. Fluid overall looked in ok condition considering the age. Yes there was some very very very fine metal attached to the magnetic in the base of the pan but nothing major. From my research and experience this is pretty normal its just larger pieces you want to avoid like the size of a splinter is what its been compared to me in the past. Towing it to the dealer or shop tomorrow so looking for some feedback quickly.
