So in my 85 f250 i just got done putting together the new belts, new powersteering pump, new ps high pressure hose and now the pressure line is leaking from when you screw it into the housing. i need help, not trying to pay a guy $300 to take my line off put new line and fluid in when i can.
hey so basically just replace everything, but it still leaked. so what we did was put teflon tape around the powersteering hose that goes into the housing of the powersteering pump
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I replaced the Teflon ring on the fitting that screws in the pump outlet. I tried a Dorman #82540 kit but the ring broke when I put it on (despite heating and silicon grease) Then I had success with one from the Ford dealer. Either better made or a hair bigger. Anyway, I won't be surprised if it leaks and I'll try the Teflon tape trick.
