Every Spring when I take my '91 Porsche 911 out of storage, and it again runs like a top with no problems, I say out loud: "Thank God I don't own a Ferrari!"
When the garage door opens, I have to say "Hello Alia" to my Ferrari or else she'll throw a check engine light at me.

Yes!!
Whenever I back my '59 Mack truck into the garage after a 7 hr trip, I tap it on the fender and say "thanks for getting me home". When you are dealing with 50+ yr old semi, it is not a simple "AAA" tow if something goes wrong. In the last 16 yrs it has always gotten me, my trailer and race car there and back safely and in one piece. Won't say without a hiccup, but always back home without assistance.

Hahaha...
Yes, they can be fussy... they require periodic attention like a mistress - and probably about as expensive as one. She's been a very good girl since June 2017.
OK, back to the topic (fun diversions though):
I always feel bad removing, say, an old bolt and replacing it with a new one...kinds feeling like the old bolt might miss his old "friends"...it's dumb, I know... I sold an old VW that I owned for years and criss-crossed the USA with...I KNOW it misses me.
Never make fun of a car out loud when within earshot...never...it WILL break down.
That whole thing about washing a car and then it rains... I also bought a snow plow this year...only used it once...
People who name their cars creep me out.
Never switch an old car over to synthetic. That being said...my '69 F-100 has been on synthetic since the 80's..which means I cant switch BACK now...sheesh....
I have a lucky silver dollar in the glove box that is only to be used to buy gas in an emergency. I had a friend who refused to ever put more than $5 of gas in at a time. His '75 Oldsmobile could run on "E" all day long!
The last year I had my 6.0 I would always back into a parking spot. I though it was bad luck to pull into a parking spot........or was it just easier to get hooked up to the tow truck?
