the starter does not crank when key is turned. the battery, starter and alternator are good, had them tested. this was an intermitant prob it is not any longer. all the lights/bells and whistles come on then turn off when key is turned to start, like they should, but no starter reply.
Does the anti-theft "Security Key" system stop the truck from actaully cranking?
My next thought is the TR sensor. any feed back?
Any other idea?
I have pulled the codes from the PCM, but there were none.
Arcing the solenoid got it to start right up. I was unaware that Ford still used them. I had a 76 F350 years ago and was forever replacing it. I guess I should have just stopped and thought a bit.
However the radio now does not work. and the Climate control does not show the current outside temp when turned off. Related to the solenoid issue? related to each other? possibly both?
