4wd clunk

During the winter I usually run my hubs locked because I switch in and out of 4wd so frequently with plowing. Lately I have had them unlocked and almost every time I engage 4wd and begin to move or power gets to the front wheels it clunks pretty loudly. I am not sure where to look first because it doens't do it if the hubs are locked in already it's only when they are unlocked...

Maybe try to be rolling slightly with no throttle input and see if its smoother. Being stopped and engaging 4wd it may not fully lock in until you roll forward a bit and since you are throttling up it may hit a little harder.
