Might as well change out the housing gaskets and the front seal too, while it's out of the truck.

Transmission re seal

Remove the extension housing and press in a new output yoke bushing.

Is there an exploded break down on here? Any particular parts dealers?

NAPA & etc independent auto parts stores should have all the parts.

Parts are not hard to find, because...this trans was used in misc cars from 1963 thru 1979, F100/250's from 1963 thru 1986, Econolines from 1965 thru 1987.

Pic from 1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog (same pic in post #8): Ford type 3.03 3 speed manual all syncromesh transmission.

Looks pretty accurate. 3rd(high gear) is always at the input end, working towards the tailshaft for 1st. I'm used to 4 spds, so the Rev location is not normal to me.

Yup, a simple gasket/seal set would help dry things up after 50 yrs.
