I've got a 1994 F150 that I really like. I just got it back in March. Anyway, I also have a 1998 VW Beetle TDI that I don't much care for.

Would I be able to trade both vehicles on a new F150?

I figure I can get 10k for the bug IF I sell it privately, and about 3500 for my Truck.

So, in theory this leaves me with about a 12-15k loan on a brand new truck.

I want the regular cab (or what they consider regular) and 8' bed.

4x4 not wanted, but would be nice.

does this sound like a good idea, or am I a moron for trading in a perfectly good 50mpg diesel car?


I've never owned a 'new' vehicle before. Do you guys forsee this next design to be a good, reliable one? I am really turned onto the new design, and supposed stronger structural rigidity of the truck.

 

looks like a great model. sounds good...you got plenty to put into by trading both vehicles ( and yes, most dealerships will take however many cars you want to trade in). my only reservation about it is that it is BRAND NEW. If it were me I might be hesitant and want to wait 6mos to a year just to be sure that there aren't any problems. Nothing worse than to buy a NEW vehicle and it have all sorts of problems.
