Does anyone sell interior paint that is an exact match? I have a 95 F150 with a blue interior. I guess the exact color code is on the door tag? (I can look tomorrow.) LMC sells "blue". I can get an exact match for my 87 Mustangs Regatta Blue, what about my truck?

 

Are you talking about paint for the plastic trims?

94 and up will be code "V" royal blue interior.

I would rather replace trims with the correctly colored ones than attempt to paint them only to have to be constantly freshen up or repainting.

I just looked at the door jamb tag. I don't see any mention of interior color. I'm going to see how my Regatta blue matches. Need be, I'll see if the other interior colors that Late Model Restoration offers for Mustangs, are close.

 

At the bottom of your door jam sticker where it shows tire pressure etc, there is a interior code located under INT TR. That will be your interior code to look up. Sandy

 

I just went through this on my 96 when adding an A pillar pod.

I bought .......

Duplicolor HUP112
is too gray(may match the 92/93 crystal blue

Duplicolor HUP 102 was too blue

SEM 15043 was too dark

SEM 15643 was too blue

Colorbond 75 was too dark

I spend about $65 in all these colors, And it was money well spent in order to get the RIGHT blue.

But from Late model restoration it is The CORRECT blue
And BTW it is ROYAL BLUE

I will warn you. NOTHING will hold up on door panels . It will wear off

DB, thanks for IDing it as Royal Blue. I can appreciate what you went through to figure that out!
The truck gets very light use, so I'm hoping it holds up for a while.

The "V" is under "BODY" on the tag at the very bottom.

 

Your color code for the exterior is KE Medium Lapis (BLUE) My sticker is like yours so I used a VIN decoder for your number. Mine is UA BLACK

 

I agree with DieselBrad. Paint won't stick to interior plastic for the long term. I would sand the panels and clean them very thoroughly with something like denatured alcohol. Then, I would try to use a paint meant specifically for plastic, and, I'd plan on touching it up every couple of years. I painted some plastic flower pots that have been in the sun for years with a plastic-specific paint, they still appear to have all the paint on them. Adhesion and flexibility are the key issues beyond surface preparation.

 

The paint LMR sells is for plastic.

As far as how long it will last, I painted the map light bezel in my Mustang years ago. It still looks good. Yeah, it's a no-wear item, and it's out of the sun in a seldom used garage kept car. :-) Other than that...
My truck is kept outside, but isn't used much. I don't see an option to painting them. I haven't seen new ones, and they'd probably be mucho dinero, if they existed.

 

Coverlay does make NEW blue door panels, but they are slightly different than the originals.
You would need to see if that is something you'd be okay with.
And it may not be exact color.....
