Exclamation CRISIS! 1990 Bronco needs starting!

Long time no see brothers and sisters,

I recently purchased a Bronco 5.8 from the original owner and the PUSHROD and STARTER SWITCH are gone. The wires to the switch are cut but there. I need to start the vehicle! Is there a way I can start it without these components?

I’m sure there is right??

Starter switch wires

Lemme know if the picture is available. I’m on mobile.

JUST TO CLARIFY! I meant the starter rod. The long piece that slides into the starter switch is gone, said it broke. So all I got are these wires hanging loose

Make a list of the colors....

Automatic or Manual ?

Strip a 1/4 inch of insulation from each wire.

Careful; Yellow (37) wires are from Battery and are Hot with 12 volts.

No sir I don’t. Looks like I’ll have to go shopping tomorrow. What about the hot wires?

Make sure she is in Park or Neutral.

So, clip or twist one of the Yellow wires to the Red/Light Green wire.

Then just touch the Red/Light Blue wire to either Yellow wire until it starts.

You could just strip one of the Yellow wires a little more and the Red/Light Green so you can twist those 2 together.

Just don't let the Yellow/Hot wires touch any metal (ground).

Just disconnect the Red/Light Green wire from the Yellow and it should shut down.

FYI;
Red/Light Blue - Starter Solenoid - momentary contact

Black/Light Green – Wipers/Windows, Brake Anti-Lock etc.
Gray/White – A/C - Heater, etc.
Purple/White - Instrument Cluster

No need to connect this one for now;
Black/Pink - same as R/LG in Start Position (not Brown/Pink)
