Looks like you have a 400. Here is a link so you can figure out appx. when it was made. Unless you're lucky enough to still have the original engine tag or sticker on the valve cover. About all you can do to date it is to find the casting dates.

It is titled Ford at Fifty. It was published by Simon & Schuster but the copyright was by Ford in 1953. It is on very high quality paper.
This page shows the Atlanta Plant. The text says every fourth vehicle was a truck but looking at the pictures it seems at the time they took it every fifth one was a truck.
