Im not finished with this install yet. Has the factory Navigation head unit, but will be changing my door speakers to Infinity reference. I can say however, that I have two other Kicker Hideaways... one in my 2013 Transit Connect, and one in my 2008 Super Duty super cab. They both have the Infinity reference line speakers and sound great. The Hideaway adds just the right amount of "Kick" Best regards, Woody
Yes, and no sub...Since the Hideaway gives you an input choice of either low impendance (RCA) or high, I'll tap into the high impedance off the rear speaker wiring.
This exactly what I want to do. I put kicker in both front and rear doors. I have xl. It only has 6 speakers. I have upgraded bigger screen and dealer was able to replace apim and put nav in. I have a alpine 460 I was going to run to new kickers and keep stock tweeter to original head unit once I get hideaway kicker. Not sure how it will all hook up though?
I believe it was 18-1/2" center to center on the frames mounting holes... just measure your rear seats stud spacing, and its 9-1/2" tall. I used #10x1 screws with jam nuts so to act as studs, this will make removal a snap if needed. Thats felt with an adhesive back, not tape... When the Hideaway is mounted, the felt is slightly compressed making for a solid installation...
Ok. So the hideaway actually comes with a top n lower bracket that you mounted to yours. Hard to tell. How much did you pay for hideaway? I've seen them refurbished for 150$.
Yes, the Hideaway comes with nylon mounting straps that can be screwed through the sheet metal body of the cab, and also comes with metal mounting tabs that screw into the back of the Hideaway, then you can screw or bolt through these tabs to mount it... thats the method I used. Got mine new off Amazon for $219. I’ll be driving my Infiniti Reference speakers straight off the factory head unit...
