Question Aamco?

Opinion on having a C-6 rebuilt by AAMCO? I need a trans that can live behind a 400-450 HP/TQ 393 stroker. Being used for towing around 6500lbs. Across country one way. WA-NJ.
Or would my money be better spent on a mail order, Summit/Jegs transmission? Thanks for any input!!

Aamco?

Aamco is junk. Their half-assed rebuilds barely hold up behind a stock engine. Your best bet is to find a local speed shop that specializes in performance transmission work and discuss your specific needs with them. A crate tranny from Summit or Jegs will be durable but might or might not be what you want for your application.

Aamco?

AAMCO is olny good to watch on TV. At least they can't lie in your face from that far away. Why they are still in bussiness is amazing to me. Been to two of their shops and both have been nothing but scalpers and cheats. I'd buy one from a junk yard that told me it was only good for a core before paying them to fix a leaky pan gasket! Take the hints, RUN LIKE HELL!
