radio issue

hello i have an 07 expedition XLT I replaced oem radio with a diff OEM radio and the clock comes on and will try to eject disk but that is it no sound and no illumination when parking lamps are on any clues of what may be the problem

Is it a navigation radio? I'm sure they need to be programed to your vehicle.
If it is not the navigation radio I'm not sure if it needs programing.
That's all I know as to why the new radio will not work.
