I just put new brakes on and i'm having trouble adjusting them. After i put them on the back right was locking up pretty easy. Now it won't lock up but i can't get the back left to lock up with the right (when i say locking up i mean just testing it in gravel). I was wondering if they adjust themselves with the ABS.
As long as the self-adjusters were correctly installed, the rear brakes will adjust given time. They only self adjust when BACKING UP however, so several stops in reverse should equalize them.
The ABS does not have anything to do with adjustment of the front or rear brakes.
back up ,,,,,back up and then back up some more with the brake lightly applied.. or you can manually adjust the rears by removing the dust cap and turning the adjuster. I normally set my brakes up with the drum off . then i place the drum on with a slight resistance in installing. then i back up with the brake lightly applied...
