well im basicly wanting to know what i can do to deepen the sound and make it louder. i don't want it to loud, like in that you can hear it across town. but i want to be able to hear it, and for it to sound good. right now you can't even hear the thing with the current exhaust. you only really hear any thing under high revs, which won't be happening often, and even then its just becoming audible to me inside the truck. its a 88 f-150 xlt lariat v8 5.8 L 351 efi. people are kinda suprised at how quite it runs. but i need the solution to be somewhat cheap with college coming up and considering i don't want to blow a wad of cash in such an old truck. how ever much i like it.

The cats are restricted alot of the sound of your exhaust. You need to lose them and replace with a high flow cat.

How much are you willing to spend?? Do you want the duals looks... can you do the exhaust work yourself??

If you want really cheap and some noise just throw a glasspack on there and dump it.

well im willing to do the work myself assuming its not something extremely hard, which it doesn't seem to be. i don't really want the duals looks, just the sound. and though i like the idea of cheap, glasspacks a little to cheap from what ive read.

I'd go with either a Flowmaster 40 Original or a Dynomax Bullet... I've had both on my truck before and they both sound great!
