Had an interesting problem, driving the truck down the road and suddenly the TPMS goes off telling me my drivers front is low on air. Thinking i picked up a screw or nail, I take it to my tire shop to find the leak and plug it. They can't find anything in the tire and soap tested the tire to make sure. They figure it must be leaking at the valve, added air and sent me on my way. Went to the closest dealer, they said my valve was assembled wrong and didn't know how it ever held air. Put a new one in and send me on my way. Next day, still losing air!! This time I take it to my own dealer I trust and they weren't quite sure but replaced the valve stem again and you guessed it, still losing air!! call them up and they're baffled. Give them my truck again and they fine tooth comb it, turns out the there was a hairline crack in the rim that was losing air. It would hold up to a certain psi cold but as soon as the rim heated up it would lose air consistently. I only tow boats with it and don't ever go off road but they went through EVERYTHING trying to see if it was abused, looking at bump stocks, checking the springs, etc. After figuring out I didn't do anything to it, they replaced the rim and tire. that was back in June, now I have my drivers outside rear starting to act the same way. Anyone else have problems with their rims having defects?
I also had the same problem, I was on a 10 day camping trip when all 4 wheels went flat over a 2 day period , I did hear its the holes for the valve stems( holes are oversize or the counterbore for the seal is not smooth enough) so not having the time to get them fixed at the dealer I removed the mounting nut and washer that hold the tpm sensors in place and installed O-rings between the wheel and washer then reinstalled the nut. Its been 5 months and still holding air. when I change the tires I will look for a better repair and just a FYI, The aluminum wheels are made in China.
I thought they were talking the F-350 wheels, not the F-450 wheels. Where did I miss the discussion included F-450?
Exactly. But the comment I quoted said “aluminum wheels” for his dually. It was my understanding F450 are aluminum. F350 are steel. So I’m asking the same thing.

I don't remember what was offered for the 2017 F-350 dual rear wheeled, but the 2018 shows 17" aluminum for Lariat and up, only XL and XLT come with steel all around as the standard supply.
!!! scratch that maybe they are aluminum hub covers !!! No, it is definitely 17" aluminum wheels.
So does this discussion include F-450 aluminum wheels?
No I don't think so, The 19.5" on the 450's don't have TPMS.
The 2 fronts and the 2 outer rears are aluminum, made in China wheels are the problem and the 2 inner steel wheels don't leak at all, and they are 17".
Only the aluminum wheels on the F450's are advertised as Alcoa. My wheels do not look the same as the wheels on the 450.
I seriously doubt they are made by Alcoa.
Haven't had any air loss problems yet. Could this be limited to early production models perhaps?
