Thanks for the offer everybody. I'm in Louisville KY. I'll see what I can find out from the dealer. I rented a car and came home so I have until Friday to get a replacement.

Louisville, KY? Heck! Go by the Super Duty plant, explain your situation and see if they'll give you one.

Yeah man, I’d stop by the plant if I was that close and give it a try. I also have a few spares and could express/overnight one to you. Just let me know. Hope you get it fixed quickly.

Well, it seems Ford is well aware of the problem, but that begs the question if whether or not the rectangular fuel filter housing cap will be redesigned, too?

Looks like Ford really did discontinue this part very recently. I ordered and received 2 of them on 5/31.

They may now have an alternate solution such as redesigned filter housing. Your dealer should be able to tell you.

At this point it’s a warranty issue where ford would be required to tow your truck to a dealer and fix it.

I bought 2 spares. If no one is closer willing to part with one I’m willing to send you one to help a fellow Ford owner out. I sent you a PM.

I emailed my dealer yesterday so they would see it first thing this morning. They checked and they didn't have any. Said they were on BO until 6/22 and put in an order for 2. I called another local dealer and he didn't have them either but he did look in the system to see if any dealers had them. Closest was up near Cincy. I called them and they had 4 so I asked for them to ship me 2. Said he doesn't normally ship to individuals but took my info and said he would ship UPS Ground. That close I should have them tomorrow. If not I may hit up one of the kind members that have offered to lend me their spare.

I'll probably go ahead and take the 2 my dealer is ordering hoping they are a new design. It definitely needs to be a metal part so little plastic tabs don't break off.

Got my replacement parts today so I should be able to get my truck back running this weekend when we are back at the lake. At least I'm hoping I don't break 2 more of them. Thanks for all of the offers to let me use your spares. What a great group this is!!!

If you're still in the market, I ordered TWO from Showalter Ford Parts in UT on Thurs and they shipped next day from FORD Memphis High Volume Center Memphis TN. Delivered to me in GA on Sat.
