I have a 1993 5.8 liter F-150 with a flowmaster exhaust. I am wondering if I should take my catalytic converter of and run a straight pipe to my muffler. Can anybody till me goods and the bads, before a make my decision. thanks
Do you have emissions? If not, then it's possible. There are plenty of people on this site that are 100% against it, but the factory convertor is restrictive.
I would take it off and have it hollowed out. I've been told that a pipe needs to be fit through the empty convertor to keep it from rattling.
I have true duals on my '89 F-150 and it hasn't given me any trouble.
I have a 95 F150 w/ a 302. It has flowmaster exhaust. I removed the second cat and ran 3 inch pipe to the flowmaster from the first little cat. It sounds a lot better. I think it runs better too. Hope this helps some
i have an 89 5.0 with straight pipes and dumps right before the rear axle (i have cats, but i hollowed them out, so theyre there for looks only). truck runs great and sounds MEAN!
