I know next to nothing about Diesels, but I've heard lots of horror stories about using fuel 'not blended' for cold weather.
From what I've heard the stuff gels up and the fuel system needs to be manually cleaned. Not sure how cold it got in Ga, but it was something that struck me.
Also, you migh try posting in a forum section for your year and type of truck. Folks there could well have a lot better answers.
