Angry OBD-II Codes

Hi,

My check engine light is on and I went to AutoZone to have them read the code for me. The told me it said PO153, which I have found on the internet be be one of the oxygen sensors. It says on several sights that it is bank 2 sensor 1. Can any one tell me which side of the truck is bank 2, driver or passenger? And is sensor 1 before the catalytic converter or after? Thanks

Bob

OBD-II Codes

Bob,

I checked the Haynes manual and it doesn't say how the banks are oriented (it does have a pretty good write-up, though). The schematic shows the sensor being labeled as Sensor #12, #11, #22, and #21. The schematic does indicate the wire coloring is different.

#12 - Red/Lt grn and wht/blk
#11 - red/wht and gry/lt blu
#21 - yel/lt blu and red/blk
#22 - ppl/lt grn and tan/yel

Maybe they are labelled or you could follow the procedure in the haynes manual to determine which one is bad.

Good luck,
Philip
