Just picked up my 2004 SD Dually PSD to replace my 2000 SD Dually PSD. I am a believer! Can't remember how I disabled the chime for leaving the key in the ignition when you jump out for a second. I vagely remember cutting a wire. maybe purple with pink, under dash. would like to confirm before I go cutting wires.
2004 PSD Dually Crew,Guages, wood grain A pillers, etc, etc, etc.
This is how I did it on my 02' I found this in the FAQ.
Q: How do I get rid of the key buzzer?
A: Easiest way is to remove the ignition assembly. This is done by looking under the steering column and using an awl or something similar press the detent ball under the ignition. The assy. can only pull out when the key is in the ON position (not started.) You will see some brass contacts. Tape over them and the buzzers will stop.
Also, some models will let you just push the seatbelt latch and that will disable the buzzer until you turn off the truck. Once restarted you must do it again.
On a '99 ford van I drive at work, the buzzer came from a small module under the dash that I simply unplugged. I don't know if it is the same as your truck.
Tried both fixes, and worked great,But what I'am trying to acheive is to have no chime with key in ignition and ih the accessory position so I can listen to the radio. Seem's to me to solve this you have to doo something with the door ajar switch.
Any input on this would be great.
