Hey guys...I’m a newbie (on the site and with diesels) so please bare with me...I have a 2013 F-250 Super Duty 6.7 & absolutely love it! The check engine light has come on and I am a bit nervous about it...I'm asking for recommendations or ideas as to what y'all think I should do about this??? Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all of you!!
Ok ell the first thing you need to do is get the code read and see what the code is that is tripping the CEL. If you go to your local Auto Zone thwy will read the code for you and tell you what it is, and you need to write it down and then tell us what it says.
The next thing you might want to consider doing is getting an app if you have an android or Iphone and a OBD2 bluetooth that will plug into your truck so you can pull codes yourself in the future.
I have an actual code reader I bought from Amazon which you could also consider. You need to find what your comfortable using and I am sure the fellas here will have some suggestions for you on the apps and OBD2's
Like I said though go to your local auto zone and you can get the code read and then write it down and post that information back here at the forum.
It could be something, it could be nothing, but you wont know till you have the code to find out what it is referring to for the CEL
I know that's probably not the answer your looking for but that's the best advice I can give you at the moment
all most "ALL" auto parts stores will read the code.. for free.. most will have NO idea what they mean or how to fix...
look up the code on the internet... that will give you an idea what the computer is complaining about...
the code is a fault.. not WHAT IS WRONG... that is your job.
or post the code on this forum... others will try to figure out what is going on..
but hands on the truck is best..
not able to feel/see/test/inspect/hear......
