I have a 69 F-100 motor is currently built but I am wanting to do a front end swap as well. What year crown vic did you use??
A front suspension like this will need to come from a 2003-2011 P71 (police Interceptor) or from an '03-up P73/P74 civilian model Crown Vic.
I believe the civilian models ceased production before the police models --somewhere around 2009.
Other makes that have the same front suspension:
'03-up Mercury Grand Marquis.
'03/'04 Mercury Maruader.
'03-up Lincoln Town Car.
The only difference between police/taxis Crown Vics and civilian model Crown Vics are the front coil springs. Civilian models have 440# rated springs. Police/taxis have 720# rated springs but, the springs can be changed. It's also likely a police model CV will have seen a harder life than a civilian model.
Mine came from a police car. Unsure of year or mileage. And yes, the P71 springs are superstiff. It barely compresses when you let it down off the jack.Hopefully coil overs up front this year.
So after fabbing brackets to hang the IRS under the frame I put the box back on to see how it will look and what kind of ride height I can get. I was totally disappointed. The truck would be be way too high like this.
This was really eating me alive. After thinking about things instead of sleeping I came up with a new plan. Got home from work, ate some supper and started cutting into it again. Just can't be afraid to move on to plan B when plan A doesn't work out. Looks like I'm going to get the ride height I wanted.
Awesome work. What size tires/wheels? Did u have to mod the wheel well to fit? I really wanted to go IRS on my build but I just went with a 4 link using the solid axle from my donor car.

305/35ZR19 no mods to wheel wells, but it's a tight fit
