The OEM F150 Backup camera's seem to be between $250 and $500. The OEM Flex/MKX backup cameras are less than $100.
Question is: What differences are there between different OEM FORD backup cameras. For example: 2011 Ford Explorer PART# EB5Z-19G490-A $56 2011 Ford F150 PART # BL3Z-19G490-B $527
Has anyone tried installing a slightly different model of backup camera in their F150 with positive results?

I didnt think of that until you replied. Yes the camera is in the tailgate which is SORT of exposed to the elements but I am more curious about the FUNCTIONALITY of the two in F150. Does a NON F150 camera WORK in a F150?
I don't know about the functionality, but if the Flex's camera is inside, it may not be weather sealed like the F-150's. Electronically, I would think that they would be the same, but the lenses may be different to account for the difference in height between the Flex and F-150.
I currently have an edge that I've been trying to find a replacement for but it's still more expensive like the f150 I see tons of escape, flex, fiesta,Explorer and so on reverse cams are $50? But still f150 and edge are $450 is there possibly a software difference connectors look the same

F150 camera is in the tailgate exposed to the elements, the other 2 you listed are inside out of the weather.
How is the camera in the tailgate of a pickup any more exposed than the camera in the lift gate of an SUV? It's not like the tailgate is opened up for all the weather to get in.
