Hello, did a tune-up on my 2004 Lincoln Navigator, and found oil in a few of the wells for the spark plugs. Had a friend come over to change out the gasket and o-rings. After replacing them the vehicle started running very rough. Gave the P2197 code so change out the O2 sensors in the front. the PVC valve and the top side of the carb gaskets. Also checked for vacuum leaks and could not find one. checked the lines and no leaks to be found!!!!!
Nothing wrong with the O2 sensors. P2197 is just saying the bank2 upstream O2 sensor is stuck lean (meaning it is not switching back and forth) because it is trying to compensate for a rich condiction.
Did you check to see that the coolant sensor and the IAT sensors are still plugged in?
Is the fuel pressure regulator’s vacuum hose connected and not leaking?
Is there any sign of fuel in the regulator’s diaphragm?
Check the wiring harness to the O2 sensor on the driver's side before the catalytic converter. Maybe it was damaged or knocked off during the valve cover job.
