Angry keyless entry code

Recently had my Excursion broken into and my manual was stolen along with the card that had the keyless entry code on it. I know I can add in another code but I was told the factory code that was stolen can't be changed because it is a part of the ECU. So, whoever broke onto my vehicle can open up my vehicle whenever.
Does anyone know of a way to change the factory code without having to mess with the ECU and whatever else?

keyless entry code

A "quick fix" would be to go inside the driver's door and unplug the keypad from the wiring harness. Other than that, I think you're totally dependent upon a dealer to change the original code ... if, in fact, that is something a dealer can do ... might not be.

I hope nothing of value was taken from inside your X.

Good luck.

PS - I see this was your first post ... shame it was about such a sour event ... but welcome to the forum! Ken E.

PPS - If your manual was stolen, you should be able to get it replaced from Helm Publications at www.helminc.com at a lower cost than from a dealer. Helm is also a great source for many service manuals & TSBs.
