How do you get to this screen? I'd love to get my mpg reading more accurate. Been off by 1.5-2 mpg each time I check!
Go to “Engineering test menu”. Find “AFE Bias”. Replace 1000 Numberwith the Number from the Formula: : Calc MPG / Display MPG x1000=nnnn
For XLT 4.2 inch Display:
Engine off. Press and hold OK Button on the left side of the steering Wheel. Turn the ignition on Accessory mode only. Do not turn The Engine on. Hold for about 5 sec until "Engineering Test Mode" appears. Turn the Engine on and go through the menu pressing and releasing OK Button. When "AFE Bias 1000" appears press and release Down. Using Left and Right change 1000 to the Number You calculated. Press OK. Actually the steps how to correct the Numbers appears on the screen once You reach AFE Bias. To leave Engineering Mode after You are done just turn the engine off.
For Lariat and up 8 inch Display:
Engine off. Press and hold OK Button on the left side of the steering Wheel. Press push start Button only (Not Brake Pedal) to turn to Accessory Mode. Once Message “Accessory Mode” appears press the Brake Pedal and turn the Engine on. Engineering Test Mode appears instantly. Release OK Button immediately. Then the same Procedure like XLT.
If You are not successful first time try again. It should work and is not going to hurt anything.
I did it on my 2018 Lariat 502A EB. It could be little different on older trucks but similar enough to figure it out.

Just suggestion: It takes I would say 5 to 10 fill ups to get real close results after adjusting. Go to the same pump, do not top up after the click, or just to the next Dollar, empty the tank to the reserve before next fill up...
One word: Try to keep the same conditions every time and get consistent results. Use the result, which is on the middle to adjust the display. Using this I was successful to get +-2% difference, which is enough. The manufacturers are right about variables. In this case the variables are minimized within +-2%. There is no point to adjust AFE every fill up at different conditions.
