right after the new Ranger gets one ... 2020 or 2021..
and that depends on the legal issue with the 6.7
EPA cheating ????? maybe. kinda... right after Chrysler, VW....
Continuing to offer helpful and constructive posts, eh? Are you 16 years old? Not sure I've seen a post from you that wasn't a cheap shot or snide remark.
Funny, the GT500 wasn't revealed that I've seen. My son tried to keep up with the auto show, and was relaying stuff to me all weekend. Never heard any info on that 5.2 supercharged. Anyone else see anything?
My dads 15' w 6.2l is exactly the same as the 6.8l he used to have, same tire size even. The 6.2l has 4.30 gears but has a more highway friendly final OD ratio thus rpm at highway speeds is within 150rpm of the old truck. Mpg is the same if not a hair worse for the 6.2l truck, same trips, same roads driven the same. Probably because the 6.2l shifts a lot more, especially on hills. He has a regular cab work truck with the 6.2l 3.73s also, mpg is pretty crappy on that one. Granted it sees a lot of short trips but it rarely sees much more than 10mpg. So I am not seeing how the 6.2l is so much better in mpg than the 6.8l, same at best from my experience.
In a truck application with towing and heavy loads, hp and tq high in the rpm range is not where I want to be. You end with the trans hunting for gears all the time and it is annoying, hurts mpg, heats up the trans, etc. Something I really don't like about the 6.2l.
Let's start again. I think you would like the 2017 6.2l better than your dad's 2015.
With a 647hp/550tq 3.5l ecoboost laying around, do they really need a SC 5.2L?
Yes... Mustang fans don't want artificial sound enhancement pumped into the cab via the stereo. It just wouldn't be right. Having said that the Ford GT's 3.5 sounds OK but it still has a V6 sound.
